Why did the Rabbit happen?
BECAUSE EVERYBODY LOVES PASTA!
We always knew that fresh pasta was worth the effort, but that most busy people just don’t have the time to make it. We want to give our customers good quality, fresh food at a reasonable price and in a way that makes life easier. Our family is grown up, but we do remember the years when there were just not enough hours in the day.
The name 'Run Rabbit' comes from the history of our home - originally the Ardgour Community Hall, near Tarras. From the 1950s to the 1970s it was owned by the Lindis Rabbit Board who were doing battle with the thousands and thousands of rabbits burrowing their way through Central Otago. There are still quite a few left...

We have always loved food - and not just eating it!
We are interested in where food comes from, what it means to people and how it brings people together. Get any group of people reminiscing, and food will almost always be part of the story.

#shoplocal
How amazing that so much of what we need can be found on our doorstep! We always try to keep our food miles low and support local suppliers. We also work hard to minimise waste - you can even grab ground eggshells for your compost. We have plenty!

Need something special?
Because we are a small local supplier, we can be flexible about what we make. If you are a chef with a special ravioli recipe or a caterer who needs a special type of pasta, or you just need lots of pasta for a party, ask us.! We'd love to help.
